TG WORKS LINKS
Here are some links to other transgender oriented websites we hope you'll find fun, informative or helpful. If you know of a link that should be added, please let us know.
ADVOCACY AND INFORMATION
International Foundation for Gender Education
The IFGE has been providing information, resources and advocacy for the trans community for over 20 years, and their magazine, "Tapestry" while sporadic in its publication, was the first of its kind, and remains a great source of news and information pertaining to the trans community.
National Center for Transgender Equality
NCTE is primarily a political organization, working hard in Washington, DC, lobbying toward positive legislation in behalf of the trans community. Their site is also a great source of current news concerning the trans community. It's easy to become involved, and we encourage any and all interested trans people to volunteer in any way they can.
UNITED ENDA
Formed in response to the failure of GLBT leadership in Washington to effectively advocate for a version of the Employment Non Discrimination Act inclusive of gender identity among the criteria for discrimination, United ENDA is a coalition of over 370 LGBT advocacy and civil rights groups working to reintroduce the inclusive version of this important legislation.
RESOURCES
Transgendercare
Transgendercare is possibly the best source of health care and medical information on the web. Those with questions concerning HRT and other transgender health care issues can learn a great deal from the pages at their site. It is also possible to locate treatment providers, no matter your location. This is a great resource.
Transsexual Roadmap
Transition can be a long road, and there can be a lot of obstacles along the way. There is no formula for transition that works 100% of the time for 100% of people in transition. Transsexual Roadmap can help by allowing you to decide your priorities, and create a plan that works for you. With over 1,000 pages of resources, from information on medications and medical resources to name change laws and forms and publications, pretty much any resource necessary for successful transition can be found here.

SOCIAL SITES
Trannyweb
Trannyweb is an online support community with about 30,000 members worldwide. The chatroom is considered to be among the friendliest on the web, and the forums are informative, with lively discussion of a wide variety of topics. Basic membership is free.
UR NOT ALONE
URNA is another large worldwide support site, but with a decidedly adult bent. The chatroom is very popular, and reasonably friendly, but there are numerous users there who are a little friendlier than you may have in mind. Despite this, URNA has a good sense of support and community activism, and can be a great site to locate other trans people in your area. Basic membership is free.
